I will write for myself, to alleviate the apprehension in the depth of my soul.

Rule #17: Don't judge people for judging you, they've already judged themselves.

The Wedding of my Dreams

1. I don’t want it to be “VERY” traditional. Just a wee bit is fine, but I don’t want it to be like a normal typical ones. This is a once in a lifetime event for me, I want it unique.

2. The place has to be indoor. Not just under the void deck, but an enclosed place where there will be air-conditioner. (CC’s hall is good enough for me) I hate sweating and when I do, I tend to be very cranky especially when there’s thick make-up going on. Plus, the weather forecast is not very reliable. I don’t want my wedding to be affected by the weather AT ALL. Rain or shine, I want my guests to enjoy the whole day without worrying anything.

3. I will have a theme for my wedding which is Winter. This is the most significant part. Okay you might think I’m a fool, but I’m not expecting guest to wear gloves, thick furry jacket, snow cap, AND NO I can’t possibly provide snow too. Haha. I will elaborate......

4.The main colours I’ll pick are blue and white to match with the theme. Even though Red is my favourite, I would avoid it so that it won’t look Christmas-ish. I want my guests to wear silver. It is not compulsory, but highly recommended so that the pictures will turn out great!

5. I want the place to be decorated with metallic snowflakes, small ornaments and foil confetti. White & Blue satin to be hung on the ceilings. The flowers should be a mixture of ivory and cream with a little touch of baby blue. Probably, calla lilies and amaryllis. I would refrain from using candles because I don’t want people to think I’m following the Christians’ way. But I desire drippy crystal strands hanging from chandeliers throughout the room.

6. I’ll go for silvery table linens and top with crystal bouquet as the centrepieces to create an icy look scattered around in clear or blue flat glass marbles. Chairs can be covered in coordinating silver slipcovers with bows tied at the back of each chairs.

7. Initially I wanted 10-tier wedding cake. I’m not crazy, I’ve actually seen malay weddings with really tall cakes and they are beyond gorgeous! However I also need to think of my budget. Since I’m focusing more on the decors of the place, I will just get a 3 or 4 tier. It has to be squarish like gift boxes, full white with a blue sugar ribbon, rhinestones and crystal drops cascading down at the sides of the cake. I love how wedding cake toppers can be so varied. As for me, I won’t mind classic ones as long as they sparkle! *_*

8.My ‘Pelamin’ would also be white. I want to have like a modern “throne” look. I’m not sure what exactly i want it to be, but I do want to have cute curtains draping down from top and greyish little trees/branches by the side adding white flowers with some stuffs on them to make it look snowy from far. Of course, white carpet.

9. As for my wedding dress...I will try to cover up my skin as best as I can but I want it to be modern and stylish. An elegant long-line gown with a sleek A-line or fishtail skirt, perhaps. Anything that would show off my shape and is not very traditional!

10. Food stays as it is. Ayam masak merah, and other typical lauk(s) are fine. However,I do want spaghetti and sweet&sour fish to be served too because I’m a western food lover. As for desserts, I would love to have mini cupcakes, eclairs and chocolate tarts. If I’m within the budget, a chocolate fondue with pretzels and marshmallows just like the one at my sweet sixteen will be great too!

11. I don’t favour malay songs but I don’t have a choice since most guests are aunties & uncles. Of course I want a mixture of English too, but I’ll prefer Indonesian songs instead of malay!

12. As I am a big fan of chocolates, I would give a pretty tin of different chocolate flavours (Mint,Dark,White,Milk) as the wedding favors. A home-made heart-shaped cookie packed in a plastic bag tied with a ribbon is perfect for kids as well!

13. A winter themed wedding can segue perfectly into a snowy escape. Since I was young, I always dream of going to Paris in winter. It is a must for me to travel there for my honeymoon, no matter what my future husband thinks! (I already told my boyfriend so that he will be mentally & financially prepared, if he’s the one. mweeeeheehe)

Sorry for the delay but there you go! That’s my glamourous and magical future wedding. I’ve been to malay weddings with brilliant themes and I don’t think mine is impossible to do! Insya Allah with the help of my family, it will turn out just like how I imagine. My boyfriend jokingly said, “Whoever your wedding planner will be, she/he is unlucky to work with you,” But you know what, if my wedding planner can pull it off for me, her/his business will definitely rise. If not, i will make sure it does! ;)

NOTE: I don’t need to have expensive materials to make all of that happen. Just plastic, hand-made or anything that’s cheap, AS LONG AS IT SHINES LIKE A STAR, I'll be satisfied enough!!!

Too much to ask for? Nah!
