I will write for myself, to alleviate the apprehension in the depth of my soul.

Rule #31: It's better to live your own life imperfectly than to imitate someone else’s perfectly.

I was at Wisma atria with my good friend Dinie when one of the staffs from a beauty store called Vardi & Migdal approached us by asking some questions. I didn’t really thought I was going to purchase any of the items that she’s selling, but after she rubbed some shower gel on my hand and buffed one of my fingernails, I was very impressed that I bought them anyway.

I'll confess that I’m such an impulse shopper but I just had to get these because like I’ve mentioned before, I have really sensitive skin. I can’t use any ordinary products because I suffer from eczema and my skin gets dry and itchy especially my legs. I gawked at the retail price of $45 per bottle of shower gel but the lady, who serviced me very pleasantly, offered another bottle for free. (I picked the Vanilla! The scent is so sweet.) Not only that, I didn’t have to pay for the nail buffer block. It works really great and shines your nails naturally healthy in minutes. I was told that the shine will last about 3 weeks and the company offers a lifetime warranty. (I’m still admiring my very shiny nails!) Wait, there’s more! She gave me two packets of gold powder crystal eye masks and a lavender block of soap, FOR FREE. I assumed all these offers were just part of their sales tactics but she said it was her last day so….I guess I’m just lucky!! Yay me!

Instead of paying $100+ for all this, i paid 45$ only. Good deal, yes?

Upon returning home, i decided to search for more info and reviews about this products online.. I found out that Vardi & Migdal Dead Sea Cosmetic Products are made in Israel from the minerals of the Dead Sea, which improves various chemical imbalances of the skin, balance the skin’s natural pH levels and rejuvenate the skin texture. Some of their products, like the Body Mud is 100% natural stuff. Others like their facial skincare products and shampoos include some preservatives and fragrance. And I read quite a number of good reviews so hopefully it works perfectly on my skin!

I’m actually not that strict with my beauty regime, but I do have a couple basics that I always use (will elaborate next time!). I like to pamper myself with beauty products. It is nice to treat yourself every once in awhile!

I am on the lookout for an awesome faux fur vest. I have to admit, I'm pretty smitten with the trend and whenever I go shopping, I am fascinated with the faux fur coats/jackets/vests/bags that they hang around the stores. I’m in love with all the different shades and textures and I can't resist how soft they are, it’s like walking around in fabulous blanket all day! Despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have too many opportunities to wear it because of the weather in Singapore, I still want one in my closet. The best part is knowing that no animals were harmed in the making of the faux fur ;)

All my picks above are faux, which I prefer. Aren’t they GORGE?

What’s with everyone hating on H&M? Hennes & Mauritz is not created by some homeless person in the street you know. It’s created by Erling Persson who understood fashion and modern retailing. (He already died, if you didn't know) H&M is a very popular and a successful brand all across the world for more than 60 years now and people say it’s a “typical and cheap”? Hell, I’ve seen some of their stuffs there are almost the same prices as the high street retails. They can even go up to hundred over dollars! Instead of ‘cheap’, I would say they’re rather affordable especially for teenagers like me. The clothing quality is mediocre but the styles and fashions are always up to date with many of the trends walking down the runways.

I’m so disgusted by how small-minded Singaporeans can be. If you think a particular t-shirt or pants whatever, is typical (I assume your definition typical means a lot of Minahs/Mats or Ahlians/Paikia are wearing the same thing.) then you always have a choice to pick other apparels because there is such a wide variety. Start shopping smart, honey. By ‘smart’ I mean, know well what is less worn by the locals so you won’t bump into a few people with the same outfits ;) xx
