I will write for myself, to alleviate the apprehension in the depth of my soul.

Rule No.4: Go couture yourself.

Photobucket

August flew in and out faster than any month this year- at least for me.
It’s just dawned on me that I have quite a September in store. Plans have been in the works for a few weeks now but I guess I never really realised until a few hours ago just how packed my september will be.Whatever it is, this is my favorite time of year.

It is fun having a September birthday because fall being my favorite time for fashion, there is always a good list of things I've had my eye on for the season. Oh yes, have you guys heard that H&M opened today located at Orchard building? The first 5 persons in the queue would receive a H&M Gift Card worth S$250 while the first 300 customers to enter on the opening day would get a S$20 H&M Gift Card. The night before I actually contemplated to go there in the morning until I saw the News on 5 that people have already been queuing, and they are going to overnight in front of the shop there itself. Goodness gracious!

Can you tell I felt just a wee bit excited? I didn’t quite know why but I was not looking forward to my birthday unlike any other years. I kinda sensed that something unpleasant was going to happen. And yes, it did. I had a huge argument with my sister and we were literally screaming at the top of our lungs. We even burst out crying because we both couldn’t hold the anger anymore. It was insane. I couldn’t even- Ugh. We were about to get physical until my dad came to stop the scene.

Anyway, It’s not even a big deal like turning 21 or anything. I’m simply another year older and hopefully at least a few months’ worth wiser. The last year has proved an exciting one, so perhaps I just anticipate even bigger and brighter things ahead. I just can’t wait to turn 18. To be frank, I don’t really like my friends to buy me birthday gifts. Probably it is because, people buy me things that I don’t know what to do with them. I know it’s the thought that counts but I will still feel bad. You get what I mean right. Unless you guys give me a hand-made stuffs or food, I will definitely love it:)

I had a fabulous birthday dinner with my family @ Marina Square’s Breeks CafĂ©. We wore baju kurung since we had to visit a house afterwards! We reserved a table last minute because causeway point and takashimaya were full house. To my surprise, there were nobody at marina sq’s outlet! Felt stupid for calling in to book a table -_-“ Well that was actually my first time dining at breeks. Honestly i don’t think the food there was scrumptious… but it was, average I guess. Just another fact about me, I ain't a big fan of cakes. My family as well. Thats the reason why i didn't have one this year!;)

Ya ya ya, i know we don't look alike.

The birthday gifts that my family bought dazzled the shit out of me. I literally couldn’t speak when I saw the pink boxes. *swoons* I always wanted a girlish watch because I have too much unisex watches. Even my Armani exchange ladies watch which was very plain and simple black, yes, I found out some of my guy friends wore the same too! (To tell you the truth….I ditched A|X and I feel so sorry for the italian designer, Giorgio Armani (did I get the spelling right? Lazy to check), that some people in Singapore make this high-end label looks stupid. ergh. Well, that’s what been happening nowadays… Take G-star as another example, do ya’ll agree? Hopefully it doesn’t happen to H&M even though a lot of people are already assuming it will just be another ‘typical’ store. Sighs)

I love the little charms on the velour purse! The purple colour looks so royalty. I love the swarovski crystals on the gold plated stainless steel which have its name engraved on it. Its beyond gorgeous. My parents know how much I’m in love with juicy couture. (My post title is one of their slogans by the way). I love how their products personify youth and vitality. I especially adore their velour track suits which define faaaab! I know they have a puppy logo and dog stuffs, but I don’t mind. They are really cute. And I applaud Juicy Couture, because lately they have been making some absolutely beautiful handbags. The items can be very costly…..and yes sweethearts, I'll admit I can’t really afford most of their stuffs. Uh huh, they do have watches that cost more than 1,000 bucks. You can tell me about it ;)

My Juicy (definitely) brings all the boys to the yard.

Just kidding.

A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who wished me!!:) I apologize if I didn’t reply you directly on facebook but yes, I do reply in twitter so follow me if you have not! Really appreciate every single messages you guys gave. They made my day. Hugs for everyone!

All praises to Allah for all the wonderful blessings you gave me and my family.

Have a happy weekend! xx

Rule No.3: Free your heart from hatred.

Photobucket

Hari raya celebrations have always been festive and colourful. I’ve vivid cherished memories on the momentous day. Laughter, joy, and FOOD. Wearing our new gorgeous Raya Outfits that my mom has sewed for our family (needless to say, shes the greatest tailor ever!! We are so lucky because we don’t have to spend a huge sum of money to produce our own in a shop! If you didn’t know, my mom was the one who made my prom dress. I only spent 5 dollars for the fabrics, and the rest she settled! Well..what can I say.. My momma is better than your momma! Hahaha.) Wearing new gorgeous heels!! Meeting relatives that i usually only meet during festivities. Getting green packets from the people who are older than me. Exclaiming over how big my little nephews, nieces or cousins has gotten, catching up on what I've been up to, being asked when will it be 'my turn'. This year, it's no different:)

It has always been our tradition (my dad's side) to rent a bus and go visiting to each other's house together until midnight or even way later than that. Before doing the massive visiting, me and my family visited my mom's side in the morning after we have our ask-for-forgiveness session. The bus ride usually starts in the evening. The only differences for this year were that, 1)my cousin Rifdi (he’s the left one in the picture on my first post! He is my closest cousin ever.) didn’t follow us jalan raya because of his exams 2) I get lesser money than past few years. 3) Unfortunately, we had to leave earlier as the parents requested to end the jalan raya before 11pm because the kids have school tomorrow. But all of that didn’t stop me from having lots of fun because the families are getting bigger!! More kids = more seats taken in the bus (it was packed!!) = more joy! I love kids! Hopefully all the families will continue growing especially my brother and his wife-to-be who are getting married next month :’)

I really can't imagine what it would be like without renting the bus. In malay terms, ia dapat mengeratkan silaturahim antara saudara mara. Without it, we would be in our own cars or other transport. Chances are, we would not be able to reach a particular house at a specific timing and we would end up going by ourselves. It wouldn’t be as memorable! I can't possibly tell you exactly what happened, but i'm so grateful to have relatives with great sense of humor because they always lighten the atmosphere with their random hilarious jokes.

This year Singapore's Raya theme colour is purple. My family chose purple even a month before ramadan. And we didn't know that alot of families has chosen it until the arab street salesperson told my mother like few weeks ago. Awesome much!

On this special month, may i humbly extend my hands to ask for forgiveness, if I have directly or indirectly, offended anyone in any of my blog posts (referring to my private one. Jfyi, I write from personal experience and they are also records of my thoughts, with only one intention i.e. to share with you what I know and what I have experienced), my tweets, my texts or anything in any way. I hope that you would see me as a mere mortal with a lot of failings and weaknesses.

To my boyfriend and all my friends, ex-colleagues and acquaintances, my twitter followers and my lovely readers, i would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin. Let the spirit of raya show us the way to forgiveness and respect, to allow harmony to return to our lives.

P.S: Do visit my house if you're around west side! Everybody is welcome to my crib!

Rule No.2: Life isin't about yourself. It's about creating yourself.

I spent my whole Sunday cleaning up my room because I was tired of living in my own filth. Furthermore, Hari Raya is coming up!! I cleaned the whole room all by myself even though I share it with my sister…which means, I cleaned up HER mess too! But I didn’t mind because she had to clean the rest of the house(and the toilets!! Mwuahaha!) My room was a major disaster, guys. Know when it gets so damn awful that you don’t even wanna be in there. Clothes were everywhere, books, bags. Well, EVERYTHING WAS EVERYWHERE. If anyone had unexpectedly dropped by, they would think I’ve been sleeping in a pigsty. HAHAHA! this was the first time I cleaned my room. I’d tidied it up plenty, sure. Straightened, yes. But never cleaned.

I am so incredibly embarrassed to be posting this picture but it has to be done. Are you shocked?:)

I had a very tough time deciding where to start. Baby steps, I thought to myself. I realised my room has been occupied by hundreds of books and a lot of documents related to my school work that I didn’t need anymore. I took a lot of plastic bags and started disposing all of them. Then I moved on to the bags that were left at the side of my wardrobe. Before organising them in a compartment, I put aside the bags that I never used anymore in a plastic for donation (to help out the SIT Cambodia Service Learning Team! Who’s with me?) I have too many shoes to fit in my small cabinet. I wish I had a tall shoe rack but my room does not have enough space for that. I’m just waiting for my sister to move out! I even replaced the bed sheets all by myself.. Usually i had some help, but this time i was all alone. And guess what? I took a total of 7 hours (minus my nap and my break fast) to just clean my whole room. Beat that!

I had this stack of magazines that i kept and i tossed all of them away :(

Thats how much TRASH that was in my room! Crazy, eh?

I was having flu since morning (whats new?) so being exposed to a high level of dust worsened the problem. But I just dealt with the dust particles in the atmosphere because I knew being a whiny brat would not help at all. I found some old stuff I haven’t looked at in years. Photos, letters, gifts, etc. I giggled while reminiscing the past. It just made me realize how much things have changed within the past year, how much things are changing and about to change now. My room’s okay now though, because you can see the ground again. I almost said floor. What is the difference, is there a socially acceptable time to use ground over floor, or vice versa?

So after hours of cleaning...........violĂ !

Now you can see my swing!!!

Now you can see my desk!!!!

Oh i love the modern feel of my room. I like to keep it very simple.

Have you ever done or created something of such life-affirming worth that you couldn't help but stand there like a moron and beam radiant joy out of your face at all around you? Well, that's what I did. I stood in the middle of my room and gave myself a big pat on my shoulder.
